I usually dont show non_finished works, but.... This little statue ended up better than expected, so i wanted to share it with you guys
All made with Zbrush, rendered in 3dsmax with vray, no 2D touch ups
It's been a while now i wanted to create something around lovecraft's best monster: Cthulhu! Representing something that look from out of this world, spooky and aesthetic in the same time is quite a challenge this statue will become part of a background for an upcoming illustration, stay tuned
So cute I wanna pet it. How do you deal with seems? I just started working with mudbox and I have few with my normal maps. Is it just something you have to clean up in PS or does it have to do with how you set your over flow when exporting the map?
I just can't believe how well you captured Cthulhu's essence here: most of the artists portray it too obvious and defined, whereas our beloved LC's monsters are always beyond comprehension and you can't tell what they are at a first glance.
Grats man, I look forward to see this finished

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
